Just like any other Midwesterner, I love my crockpot. If I could make every meal in a crockpot, I would. The very concept is genius, put food in, go to work/run errands/live life and *BAM* 8-hours later dinner is ready!
I went through a phase where every Sunday was crockpot Sunday. I would clean and run errands all day so I didn’t want to worry about dinner. It was great but my selection of meals was small and my husband and I were getting sick of the
rotation. We needed something new. It was football season so I decided to look on Pinterest for some recipes that would blend my love of my crockpot and football snacks/food. Lo-and-behold I found this amazing pin. A recipe to make chicken wings in your crockpot! Tickle me excited!
I have since made these a few times and altered the recipe a bit. Below is my “final” version :) enjoy…
3-4 lbs. chicken wings or drummettes (frozen or thawed)
½ bottle of BBQ sauce
4 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients to fully coat the chicken. Place in the crockpot and cook on low for 5 and ½ hours.
You can eat them straight from the crockpot or, if you’re like us, and you like a little crisp to your wings, you will want to place them on a foil lined cookie sheet and place in the oven for 3-4 minutes on broil.
Let cool and serve!
